Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the 1977 underwater adventure The Deep will make its high definition Blu-ray Disc debut on July 7.
The Deep is based on Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel about deep-sea divers who compete with a Haitian drug dealer to recover a trunk of morphine from the ocean’s floor. It stars Robert Shaw, Jacqueline Bisset, Nick Nolte, Louis Gossett Jr. and Eli Wallach.
On Blu-ray The Deep will be presented in 2.35:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD Audio. Cover art will be passed along once available.
Bonus features include a making-of featurette and “selected scenes from the 3-hour special edition.”
