Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the 2006 remake of The Pink Panther starring Steve Martin as the bumbling detective Jacques Clouseau is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 20.
This news should sound somewhat familiar as MGM Home Entertainment announced not long ago that the original Pink Panther is Blu-ray bound on January 27. Sony’s move gives them a one week head start over MGM but there’s plenty of time for more release date shuffling to occur.
Sony will present The Pink Panther on Blu-ray in widescreen 1.85:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.
Extras have not been announced at this time. We’ll pass them along as soon as they are available.
The Pink Panther remake on Blu-ray will retail for $28.95.
