It has been a long and agonizing wait for Netflix to feed us fresh The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tidbits.
Yes, we’ve been privy to a few Gelfling character reveals and voice actor castings, but any semblance of footage or a late 2019 release date has proven elusive.
Under the radar and slowly making their way into the wild are some brand new images attached to an Empire magazine feature from the forthcoming Netflix sequel series spearheaded by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier.
One of these images is pictured above and features the return of an old friend, the Skeksis Emperor during his formidable years. He’s wearing armor — perhaps for Skeksis combat or a larger battle with Gelfling — and grasping the identical scepter with his itty bitty hands as seen in the original The Dark Crystal film.
The article promises state-of-the-art puppetry including chase and flying scenes filmed with actual puppets and not CGI recreations.
