Today is officially Pokemon Day marking the 23rd anniversary of when the adorable little pocket monsters were unleashed upon the world.
If you thought Nintendo would let such an occasion pass without acknowledging it in some way, think again. They’re using Pokemon Day to share 7 minutes of wonderful new Pokemon news with the world via a live streaming Pokemon Direct.
The Pokemon Direct begins this morning at 9 pm EST / 6 am PST.
What will they share? They could talk about tie-ins to the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie. Maybe a Pokemon Go! update of some sort. Or, they could slip out the first information about the first truly all-new Pokemon Switch game that is supposedly coming this holiday season.
Probably not the latter. That’s better suited for E3 in a few months.
Whatever’s coming is “new” and will hopefully be worth 7 minutes of our precious time. Watch the Pokemon Direct online below.
