We now know the release date for the sequel Injustice 2 and it’s coming sooner rather than later.
Today on Twitter, Mortal Kombat co-creator and creative director at NetherRealm Studios behind the Injustice franchise, Ed Boon, published a graphic that reads simply, “i2.05.16.17.” The translation is “Injustice 2, May 16th, 2017.”
The release date announcements puts Injustice 2 only four months and change out. There are still theoretically several characters left to be revealed so we have a lot to look forward to between now and May.
With a little luck a playable Injustice 2 demo announcement is also in the cards. The original Injustice: Gods Among Us game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 received a free playable demo roughly two weeks ahead of the full release.
Injustice 2 is coming exclusively to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 barring a surprise Nintendo Switch announcement a week from now during the big Switch Nintendo Treehouse live event.
