Anchor Bay Home Entertainment has announced The Walking Dead Season 6 Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD release date falls on August 23rd, 2016. The announcement also includes expected bonus features for the upcoming release that DVD prospective buyers will want to read.
The Walking Dead Season 6 introduced, and in some cases eliminated, new cast members such as Merritt Wever as Dr. Denise Cloyd, Ethan Embry as Carter, Corey Hawkins as Heath, and Thomas Payne as Jesus. Overshadowing them all was the Season 6 finale introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan and the deadly cliffhanger that resulted from his bloody entrance.
We’ll have to wait until The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere in October to find out whose skull Negan bashed in with his baseball bat, Lucille. However, the Blu-ray edition of Season 6, and exclusively the Blu-ray edition, will include the extended cut of Episode 616 that includes, shall we say, more colorful Negan dialogue free of basic cable profanity rules. The DVD edition will not include this extended cut, but it will include an exclusive bonus feature as outlined ahead.
