Crash Bandicoot is officially joining Skylanders Imaginators as confirmed during Sony’s E3 Press Conference earlier this evening. His existence in a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 Skylanders Imaginators Starter Packs was outed by a foreign retailer last week, and that leak turned out to be on the money.
While Crash Bandicoot guest-starring in Skylanders Imaginators might seem like old news I guarantee this isn’t. Unlike last year’s Nintendo guest stars in Skylanders SuperChargers, Bowser and Donkey Kong, who were only playable on Wii U or 3DS, Crash will be fully playable on all platforms.
Developer Toys For Bob has brought Crash Bandicoot into Skylanders Imaginators as a Skylander Sensei character and a new toy figure. He’s voiced by Jess Harnell, who voiced the character in the classic PlayStation games, and will include signature attacks such as exploding TNT Crates, the Bazooka Crate with rocket launcher, signature spin attack, exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, jetpack attack from high in the air, and more.
As a Sensei character Crash will have a unique Sky-Chi attack, in his case the ability to use a yo-yo to yank his enemies into a devastating spin attack.
The only way to get the Crash Bandicoot Skylander figure is in the PS4 or PS3 Skylanders Imaginators Starter Packs. He may be available later on as an individually sold figure like last year’s Nintendo Skylander guests were, but if he is I wouldn’t expect that to happen until the first quarter of 2017.
