The first official Star Wars: The Force Awakens character posters were released earlier today with not one, but two notable omissions based on what we know about the film’s core cast.
Representing Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens in poster form are Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, and Carrie Fisher as Leia.
Noticeably missing is Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, a character whose absence from marketing materials is fueling all sorts of conspiracy theories. It’s looking pretty obvious that Hamill won’t be in the film much, but Luke’s presence will be felt and important to the film’s plot.
I’m even more surprised that Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron didn’t get a character poster. Poe is getting a Disney Infinity figure so it’s a bit surprising that he got left out in the cold. The X-Wing pilot also the shaft by being overshadowed by most of the core cast on the official Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster.
