Namco Banai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is one of Wii U’s launch titles and will bring a few non-control scheme related exclusives not available in the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 version. These aren’t just any exclusives. They’re designed specifically for Nintendo fans.
Mushroom Battle mode will place different size Mario Bros. mushrooms in the fighting arena. Depending on which size is scooped up, the fighter will gain unique power-ups and a quick upper hand in the match.
Better yet are the inclusion of Nintendo-themed costumes that will put a serious face on otherwise likeable characters. Confirmed via the all-new screenshots from TGS below are Mario, Luigi, Bowser (he’s hiliarous!), Zelda, and a deadly serious Link. It’s not Super Smash Bros. on Wii U, but a nice alternative until that inevitable title is released.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 came out for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 earlier this week. The Wii U version will be available in stores beginning November 18 when Wii U officially launches. Click any of the new screens below for a high resolution look, just below the temporary cover art.
