Sonic Lost World Assets Attacks: Screenshots, Trailer and Box ArtSonic the Hedgehog will be embarking on an all-new 3D adventure later this year in Sonic Lost World, coming exclusively on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. The game is the first in a new exclusive partnership between Nintendo and SEGA that will leverage the SEGA brand on Nintendo’s home and portable gaming systems.

Sonic Lost World marks the first 3D appearance for the venerable blue hedgehog on a Nintendo DS system. The 3DS and Wii U versions of the game are essentially identical save for a couple small differences.

The Wii U version takes advantage of remote play via the Wii U GamePad and will also include a cooperative two-player mode where one player uses the GamePad and the other the main screen. The GamePad will also be used for tilting, touching and aiming in regards to the game’s Color Powers.

The 3DS version includes exclusive special stages and Color Powers that won’t be found on the Wii U version.

Here’s the official game synopsis:

“Dr. Eggman has harnessed the power of six menacing creatures collectively known as the Deadly Six, but when the Deadly Six rise up against their master, Sonic has to unite with his arch nemesis in order to take on the new enemies head-on. Using his dynamic new parkour moves and improved Color Powers, Sonic must run, jump and race through a variety of ever-changing terrains in order to defeat the Deadly Six.”

SEGA will publish Sonic Lost World for Wii U and 3DS in the fourth quarter of this year. Enjoy the reveal trailer, box art and screenshots from both versions below.
