Activision has released new game details and the first screenshot snapped from X-Men Origins: Wolverine to help tide you over until the new theatrical trailer arrives Friday attached to The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine the game is currently in development at Raven Software for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, DS, PSP, PS2 and the PC.
In the game, players will take control of the adamantium clawed mutant to play through a storyline similar to the film. What we can gather so far is Wolverine is given his adamantium at the Weapon X Facility in Canada, escapes and then is hunted across the globe including a confirmed location somewhere in Africa.
Activision’s general description goes like this, “Set in a variety of vivid real-world locales, the title challenges players to hone their animal instinct as they uncover hidden dangers, hunt and destroy enemies, and take on seemingly insurmountable situations while discovering the truth about Wolverine’s tragic past. With razor-sharp adamantium claws unsheathed, the future X-Man enacts lightning-quick combat, evasive maneuvers, in-depth combo attacks, and an array of brutal finishing moves. Wolverine doesn’t just deliver massive damage, either – he also takes it, thanks to his mutant regenerative power that heals him in real time right before the player’s eyes.”
