Spring training games officially start today in Major League Baseball, so what better way for Sony Computer Entertainment to celebrate than releasing sets of new screenshots for the Playstation 3 version of MLB 08 The Show.
The first small batch of seven screens depicts a confrontation between an umpire and a base runner, who is being held back by the first base coach. Sony titles the series “Umpire Personalities,” but we see a lot more emotion coming from the agitated player.
The second set is comprised of an action montage of various defensive and offensive plays. You’ll be able to pick out double plays, steals, and tagging a running desperately trying to avoid the tag.
The animations and visuals are top notch, but as with any baseball game, a verdict can’t be read until we’ve experienced the gameplay in action.
MLB 08 The Show for PS3 is due in stores on February 29 or shortly thereafter.
