Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Brian Doyle Murray and William Atherton are set to revive the original Ghostbusters cast this fall in Ghostbusters: The Video Game from Sierra Entertainment. The occasion marks the first time the core cast (minus Harold Ramis, obviously above this kind of work after the “Shrunk” films) has reunited in over 20 years.
Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis have once again penned an original script, only this time choosing the medium of videogames to tell the next tale in the Ghostbusters saga. Concept ghosts that never made it into the feature films will make their debut appearance in the game thanks to Ramis and Aykroyd.
Prospective Ghostbusters get to join in as the rookie experimental equipment technician on the team. They’ll utilize wrangling and trapping game mechanics with upgradeable gadgets to catch a wide variety of destructive specters.
Ghosts are worn down with a Proton Pack’s Blast Stream while the Capture Stream is used to wrangle them into the trap. Different strategic tactics can be employed like the new Slime Tether and Stasis Stream, and targets can be scanned and analyzed using the infamous P.K.E. Meter and Paragoggles.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game is coming this fall to Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii.
