On June 16 we’ll be calling the Ghostbusters when they make a big 25th anniversary splash in the form of a Blu-ray Disc release and videogame release on multiple platforms.
Thus far we’ve seen screenshots and gone hands-on with the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the game that’s been designed to be as true to life as possible. As you’re about to see with the Wii version, realism wasn’t a top priority.
Pigeonholed by the Wii’s inferior processing capabilities, the developers have take a cartoonish approach to Ghostbusters on the Wii rather than trying to do an apples to apples dumbing down of the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. The result resembles Leisure Suit Larry caricatures more than Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd. That might be so bad considering the Wii’s Motion Controls are perfectly suited to mirror using a Proton Accelerator.
