Capcom has formally confirmed what’s been suspected for at least a half year now: Dead Rising 2 is in development for PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.
What do we know about this destined for greatness sequel? Well, not much unfortunately.
The game is set 7 years after the events that transpired at Willamette in the original. The virus managed to spread across the country and zombie outbreaks are increasingly occurring.
For Dead Rising 2, the focus will be on a massive outbreak in “Fortune City” where you’ll have to go up against “tens of thousands of zombies.” Based on the first screens Capcom is sharing below (click the thumbnails for detailed high-res versions), Fortune City is modeled after Vegas with casinos, hotels and probably a nice long strip that will be infested with zombies.
When will Dead Rising be available? We have no idea. Best guesses place it for release this fall but Capcom hasn’t commented as of yet. They have, however, promised more information is coming “shortly.”
