Ubisoft has chosen Sony’s Playstation 3 to release the multiplayer beta for Assassin’s Creed Revelations as a timed exclusive.
Owning a Playstation 3 and an Internet connection won’t be enough to grant you access to the beta, which runs from September 3-11. It will only be open to Playstation Plus or Uplay members, the latter of which is absolutely free. All you need to go is visit Ubisoft’s Uplay website and register.
The Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer beta will grant participants access to nine characters (The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion), three maps (Knight’s Hospital, Antioch, Constantinople) and four playable modes (Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault). Additional characters, maps and modes will be available in the full retail version available November 15, 2011.
Ubisoft made no mention of the multiplayer beta being available to Xbox 360 or PC owners between the close of the PS3 beta and the game’s launch. Their verbiage choice of “timed exclusive” tells us that the beta will return for a limited run on those other platforms sometime in October.
