Fans of the HBO hit series Euphoria starring Zendaya will be ecstatic to learn the actress took to social media today and made a big announcement regarding future episodes.
Beginning December 6th, the first of two previously unannounced episodes will premiere exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
It’s unclear whether these “special” episodes, as HBO has dubbed them, are considered an extension of Season 1, the beginning of Season 2, or their own standalone special. Either way, new Euphoria content is now only a little over a month off.
Hopefully some teaser footage will make its way out into the wild prior to Thanksgiving.
Update: HBO adds a little insight into what the new episodes entail.
In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (played by Emmy-winner Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. Written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson, the episode, titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in season one. The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both special episodes were produced under COVID-19 guidelines.
