A favorite character returns to the spotlight in tonight’s episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) gets his first real action after sitting on the sideline — or atop his bike, actually — for the entire current season thus far. Last week The Walking Dead put on the brakes and took a breather following the big attack on Alexandria. Maggie’s struggles with Glenn’s apparent demise took center stage as her maturity shone through when it came time to make a logical decision rather than follow her heart.
The episode also brought Aaron to the forefront for the first time this season and allowed him to help guide Maggie through a difficult time. This also included Aaron help Maggie battle a couple of of nasty sewer walkers who had been marinating in all sorts of slime for potentially years.
Maggie’s big reveal came toward the closing moments when he told Aaron that she’s pregnant and Glenn knew she is pregnant. Aaron helped lighten the mood by saying his name, spelled either Aaron or Erin, covers both sexes.
Don’t expect any Glenn revelations tonight, but do expect lots of Daryl Dixon as the fan favorite gets separated from Sasha and Abraham and finds himself running into some trouble. Rumors are swirling that we’ll meet yet another new group in the woods tonight and that group will figure into the midseason finale in a couple weeks.
The official AMC synopsis for tonight’s new The Walking Dead episode reads, “After being attacked by a new group and separated, Sasha and Abraham must search for an injured Daryl who may be in trouble.” Sounds like a winner to me after last week’s somewhat snoozer.
