Watch ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Episode 1

The final season of HBO’s monstrous hit series Game of Thrones premieres on HBO with arguably more hype and anticipation behind it than any other serial television series ever. There will undoubtedly be a lot to talk about when Episode 1 of six final Season 8 episodes premieres tonight, Sunday April 14th.

Find out how to watch Game of Thrones online free without cable on a computer, tablet or phone starting at 8/7c via one of the streaming services outlined ahead.

Our first preferred way to watch Game of Thrones online without cable is by taking advantage of a 7-day free trial of HBO via Amazon Prime. Members can jump straight in to start streaming Game of Thrones tonight without touching a wallet after joining the trial.

No cable is required to take advantage of this free HBO offer. The regular HBO price of $14.99 per month will activate once the trial is complete, or you can cancel anytime during the trial.

If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member then simply signup for a free 30-day trial of Prime. You can then add the Prime Channels with HBO free trial on top of it to stream the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere for free.

You can also add HBO as an add-on with a Hulu Live TV subscription. The big benefit here is that Hulu offers 50 hours of DVR Cloud storage so you can watch Game of Thrones live or save it for later. Sign up for Hulu Live TV to enjoy one of the most popular online streaming services available today.

If you have cable or satellite then you can watch Game of Thrones online via the HBO Now streaming service that also offers a free trial. As with Amazon Prime there is no cable, DirecTV or Dish Network needed as this is a direct offering by HBO for subscribers.

Update: HBO Now is likely to have more streaming pressure on it than ever before. Will it survive the stress test? This remains to be seen.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Preview

Game of Thrones will wrap up eight incredible seasons of storytelling and when all is said and done hopefully answer the burning question: who gets to sit on the Iron Throne?

Some will argue that Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow are the top two choices. Others might say that the cunning of Tyrion Lannister will result in him taking the throne.

Absolutely no one believes that the current King — or make that Queen — in Cersei Lannister will be firmly planted on the throne when the series concludes.

When Season 7 wrapped up, the Night King had commandeered one of the three last dragons and used it to destroy The Wall that protected Westeros from the creatures of the north. With an army of the undead marching south, a confrontation and battle for Westeros is inevitable.

Given that there are only six episodes left don’t be surprised if a familiar character or more are eliminated before the credits roll.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere Episode 1 airs Sunday night at 9/8c. The remaining five episodes will air each subsequent Sunday night in the same time slot.
