Fear The Walking Dead returns to AMC tonight for its sophomore outing following last week’s big 90-minute premiere episode that recorded record ratings. Tonight’s new installment, episode 102, is called ‘So Close, Yet So Far,’ and you can watch The Walking Dead online streaming for tonight’s all-new episode, but the official AMC online stream requires a provider login.
The pilot introduced a blended family struggling with several real-life problems. Madison and Travis’ son is a drug addict while their daughter wants nothing to do with them. Travis’ other son is staying with his mom and isn’t too pleased about the breakup.
Much of the Fear The Walking Dead pilot played like a slow burn as it set the chess pieces for the impending zombie apocalypse. Apart from the opening scene, no real action took place until the final moments when Travis’ son, Nick, accidentally killed his drug dealer and that same guy returned from the dead to try and bite Madison and Travis when they tried to help him.
The stage is now set. Walkers or zombies are starting to pop up along with missing people signs. The local school has evacuated and the authorities are starting to get involved. Expect walker activity to pick up with each subsequent episode.
The official synopsis for ‘So Close, Yet So Far’ reads, “While Madison struggles to keep Nick from a crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before the city of Los Angeles falls.”
