Unnecessary blood spilled on last week’s episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show that left a carnie fighting for his life. Tonight’s Season 4 episode 7, titled ‘Test of Strength,’ will shift the focus to Dell and once again expose the strong man’s uncontrollable temper. AHS premieres tonight on FX and you can alternatively choose to watch online free streaming as the season enters its back half.
To recap last week, that episode began in an unexpected way with Paul the Illustrated Seal in bed with Elsa. That same night, Paul made his way to the parents house of a local young lady and made plans with the school-age girl to escape from their miserable lives.
Paul’s double-dipping was discovered by Elsa and her intense jealousy and insecurity got the best of her. For his indiscretion, Paul was staked onto a spinning wheel and Elsa put a knife right through his abdomen. Paul survived the injury, at least initially, though he’s clearly in bad shape as his frantic young girlfriend looks over him.
A second act of attempted murder revolved around Ma Petite and Maggie. With Stanley pressuring Maggie to bring him a dead freak, most notably Jimmy, Maggie instead hatches a plan to lure poor little Ma Petite to a shed and kill her in a glass jar. She can’t go through with it, and instead hatches a side plan with Jimmy to run away to New York City.
As the episode ended, Jimmy went to Gloria Mott’s house in search of Bette and Dot. They’re there, but Dandy isn’t too thrilled with them after reading Bette’s diary that outs him as a complete idiot and freak. This encounter will continue in tonight’s new episode.
The official synopsis for American Horror Story: Freak Show Season 4, Episode 7 reads, “The women of the Freak Show rally against Dell after his latest act of violence. A strange encounter with Dandy raises Jimmy’s suspicion about the clown murders.”
