A call to raise the anchor one last time on TNT’s high seas drama The Last Ship has finally been made.
The fifth and final season of The Last Ship will premiere on Sunday, September 9th at its usual 9/8c time slot.
There was hope that The Last Ship’s final season would debut last summer right after production wrapped up. For whatever reason, TNT held the series back and now it’s up against more competition during the fall than had it been during the summer when previous seasons have run.
Per TV Line, Season 5 will begin after a considerable time jump and focus on political unrest following the end of the deadly virus that sparked the series. Another world war is at stake, and it’s up to the Nathan James to put out the fire before it gets out of control.
