‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9 Key Art Poster Reaches Our Nation’s Capitol

The Walking Dead Season 9 Key Art

AMC was feeling patriotic by releasing The Walking Dead Season 9 key art and poster the day after July 4th considering the imagery it reveals.

After spending what feels like countless seasons in the backwoods of Georgia and Virginia, The Walking Dead appears to be headed back to its first metropolitan city since Atlanta. We know this because of the decrepit Washington D.C. Capitol building flanked by the show’s remaining longest-running core cast members.

Rick Grimes appears front but not quite center, sporting a newly trimmed haircut that takes a strong step towards Carl’s fatal vision but doesn’t quite reach the same level of gray hair.

It’s been rumored for some time that Season 9 is Andrew Lincoln’s final on the show along with Lauren Cohan (Maggie), who is also featured on the key art. They are joined by Norman Reedus (Daryl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), and Melissa McBride (Carol).

The first The Walking Dead Season 9 trailer is expected to arrive online immediately following the Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 20th at 12:15 pm. Season 9 premieres on AMC sometime in October, as early as the 7th.
