The new world comes with a price. That’s the motto for the back half of The Walking Dead Season 6 that AMC will brilliantly roll out on Valentine’s Day. Characters will die. New characters will join the cast. And of course all hell will break loose.
To tease the upcoming midseason premiere of The Walking Dead Season 6, AMC has been releasing teaser images on their Instagram feed. Those images form a collage, and you can see that entire collage forming The Walking Dead Season 6 midseason key art in full high resolution below.
Each image offers a clue or hint as to where the next eight episodes will take the show. The giant satellite dish is a bit of a head-scratcher that says nothing more than a new location will be visited, while the smoke burning somewhere could literally be anything from a building to a vehicle.
The walker hand wearing a ring and watch is far more telling. Those accessories, and shirt partially covering a necklace for that matter, were worn by Deanna during her final stand against a slew of walkers attacking her as she fought back in a weakened state. Clearly she wasn’t able to shoot herself in the head and will return as a walker, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets a hold of someone to enjoy a fleshy snack.
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple commented on the artwork, “This image gives a look at tiny pieces of a larger world our group is about to discover. In the new world, they’ll find hope, possibility, tragedy and the terrifying cost of change.”
