Our first decent look at the characters in The Walking Dead’s upcoming season comes via new The Walking Dead Season 6 key art that AMC has released to promote the show’s upcoming San Diego Comic-Con panel next month. TWD spoilers for the Season 5 finale are ahead so stop reading if you’re not fully caught up.
When we last saw The Walking Dead, Rick had completed committing a cold-blooded murder that was telegraphed several episodes earlier, just as a now zen-like Morgan arrived at Alexandria to meet up with his friend. There was tension as their eyes locked and the credits rolled that may signal the two will be at odds as Season 6 gets underway.
The Walking Dead Season 6 key art supports this theory as Rick and Morgan are front and center, positioned as if they’ve at conflict with one another. The core Alexandria citizens are behind Morgan while Rick’s larger group is behind him.
Noticeably absent from the key art but surely lurking in the shadows are the Wolves, a group whose rules are savage and brutal at best. The Wolves are poised to disrupt the sanctity of Alexandria and it might take an Edgy Rick and calm Morgan to work together to fend them off.
