The Walking Dead Season 5 Trailer Loaded with Spoilers; Release Date Announced

The aftermath of Terminus and much more is revealed in the first The Walking Dead Season 5 trailer straight from Comic-Con in San Diego. In addition, AMC has revealed The Walking Dead Season 5 premiere date on the exact Sunday in October that everyone expected it to land on.

Before diving into the trailer, be warned that it is full of spoilers. The kind that show who will make it out of Terminus and who will reunite with who. The kind that show where Beth is if you stick around past the title card, and the answer ain’t Disneyland.

The Walking Dead comic book readers will want to have the pause button ready for the trailer’s 2:21 mark. There’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene involving a tied-up Glenn and an unidentified man about to take a swing at him with a blunt object.

There’s a similar scene in the comics that doesn’t pan out for Glenn too well. However, I think this particular scene is a fake out and set in Terminus, especially considering Glenn is seen on the move in the woods after the group presumably departs Terminus on the road to Washington, D.C. to deliver “the cure.”

To go along with The Walking Dead Season 5 trailer debut, AMC has announced an October 12 premiere date for the first of 16 Season 5 episodes. The start time remains unchanged at 9/8c. When The Walking Dead returns from its winter hiatus, it will be joined on Sunday evenings in early 2015 by the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul.
