Imagine Victorian London, England where individuals – mostly women – have supernatural abilities and must come together as a new underclass dubbed the Touched.
The Nevers from creator and executive producer Joss Whedon presents itself in this first trailer as if the X-Men were organizing during the 19th century.
Some of these gifted individuals are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a “mysterious, quick-fisted widow,” and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a “brilliant young inventor.”
The extensive ensemble cast also includes Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson, Amy Manson, Pip Torrens, Denis O’Hare, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin.
The first of six episodes of The Nevers will premiere this April on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
