Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a little over a month away and our best look yet at the second Disney Plus series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe dropped during the Super Bowl.
The new two-minute long trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the series’ plot other than presumably Daniel Brühl as Zemo thinks the world doesn’t need superheroes anymore and intends to do something about the perceived problem.
There’s a lovingly antagonistic buddy cop vibe coming from this series between Anthony Mackie as Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes in the same vein as Riggs and Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon. These superheroes are a team, but they also have some competitive issues with one another requiring a humorous therapy session.
Marvel’s short official synopsis reads, “The pair, who came together in the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities – and their patience.”
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiere is set for Friday, March 19, 2021 after WandaVision wraps up. It also stars Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that this limited series is only six episodes long.
