The first Survivor of 2019 is set on the island of Fiji, marking the 12th time the series has returned to the exotic location.
This season is called Edge of Extinction because cast members voted off have the option of taking a boat to Extinction Island. The remaining members won’t know of this option unless they are voted off.
If Extinction Island is chosen then those players will find fewer amenities and harsher conditions than in the main game. They can opt to wait it out for a chance to rejoin the game, or bail and go home at any time.
The official title for tonight’s Survivor Season 38 premiere episode is ‘It Smells Like Success.’
