Earlier today Disney brought their second quarter of Disney+ original programming into focus and dated several premieres, including two of the most anticipated of them all.
Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Bad Batch will arrive on Tuesday, May 4th, which also happen to not ironically be Star Wars day. The second episode will drop three days later on Friday, May 7th with additional episodes each subsequent Friday after that.
This animated series takes place after Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 and follows a group of genetically enhanced clones who find new purpose after the fall of the Republic and rise of the Galactic Empire.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be the first all-new animated series to premiere on Disney+.
Marvel’s Loki starring Tom Hiddleston as everyone’s favorite trickster god will arrive on Friday, June 11th. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the supporting cast is confirmed to include Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
Loki follows WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as the third Marvel Cinematic Universe-set Disney+ exclusive series.
Not mentioned and now expected in the third quarter is Marvel’s What If…?, an animated series that tweaks one or more important plot points from an existing Marvel story that dramatically alters everything after it.
