A familiar face returns on the next episode of Star Wars Rebels as Genevieve O’Reilly reprises her role of rebel leader Mon Mothma as seen in the deleted scenes of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and during this past winter’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
In a new clip from the episode titled ‘Secret Cargo’, Senator Mon Mothma meets captain Hera Syndulla and the Ghost crew for the first time. It turns out she’s on a secret mission to what will be the first meeting attempting to form a Rebel Alliance and needs the Ghost to help her get there.
What Star Wars live-action fans will immediately recognize is the location of the meeting, shared by Mon Mothma as the clip concludes, is none other than the planet of Dantooine. This is the same planet that Princess Leia tells Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin is the location of the hidden rebel base in Star Wars: A New Hope.
It turns out the base was long since abandoned and Alderaan gets blown to bits as a result.
Now finally in Star Wars Rebels it looks like we’ll get to see the operational base on Dantooine before it was abandoned. Maybe we’ll see some other familiar faces there as well such as Admiral Ackbar and Admiral Raddus.
Star Wars Rebels next airs this upcoming Saturday night at 8:30 pm EST. The season finale is scheduled for late March with a meeting between an older Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul on Tatooine scheduled between now and then.
