‘Star Trek Prodigy’ Season 1 Resumes This Week on Paramount+

Over a month has flown by since new episodes of Nickelodeon’s Star Trek: Prodigy animated series hit the skids for a holiday hiatus. That drought is about to end as Season 1 Episode 6 will appear exclusively to stream on Paramount+ beginning this Thursday, January 6th.

Season 1 left off before the hiatus with Gwyn choosing to remain with Dal and his motley crew versus continuing to fight for her father’s affection and acceptance. The choice came into focus when dad, otherwise known as The Diviner, made it clear he would rather secure the Protostar ship for his own selfish interests versus save his own flesh and blood.

Gwyn’s upbringing that trained her how to operate the Protostar came in handy when she engaged the Proto Drive to escape The Diviner and warp off into the unknown. The biggest lingering question entering this next block of five all-new episodes is where or when did the Protostar arrive considering The Diviner and Drednok can no longer see the ship on any of their tracking instruments.

Star Trek: Prodigy Episode 6 is titled Kobayashi and will revisit Star Fleet’s seemingly unwinnable test with an overconfident Dal in the captain’s hot seat.

Subsequent episodes of Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 will premiere each Thursday through February 3rd, 2022 on Paramount+, when another hiatus is anticipated to occur following the conclusion of Episode 10. Season 1 is comprised of 20 total episodes, all of which will premiere in 2022. Season 2 will add another 20 episodes that are currently in production and expected to premiere in 2023.
