Former Skylanders Academy showrunner Eric Rogers announced on Twitter today a September 28th Skylanders Academy Season 3 premiere date for the Netflix series.
A second part of Eric’s announcement was to announce that he has moved on to another animated project and passed the showrunner baton to Clayton Sakoda and Ian Weinreich for Season 3. All three showunners worked on Season 2 together.
The return of Skylanders Academy does not equate to the return of the Skylanders Toys to Life gaming franchise. Activision is sticking with mobile games for the time being and keeping away from the physical Toys to Life genre, especially after the demise of Toys “R” Us, a big Skylanders retail partner.
The first Skylanders Academy Season 3 trailer should drop sometime in the near future.
Hey hey, SkyFriends! Skylanders Academy Season 3 is launching on Netflix on 9/28! Since I’ve moved onto a new animated project, I’m passing the baton to NEW showrunners, Clayton Sakoda & Ian Weinreich. We all worked together on S2; they are awesome; show them some love!
