Netflix’s Luke Cage Release Date Announced at Daredevil Season 2 Premiere

Netflix's Luke Cage release date

With Marvel’s Daredevil taking off on its second season this upcoming Friday, March 18th, next up on the Netflix/Marvel slate is the first season of Luke Cage. Thanks to the interview couch at the Daredevil Season 2 premiere we now know exactly when Luke Cage will debut.

After the Daredevil cast had their turn on the interview couch at the new season’s premiere, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter took a seat and dished out a September 30th, 2016 premiere date for the new Netflix series. An anticipated 13 episodes will all be available to stream on that date.

Joining Colter in Luke Cage are  Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, and Sonia Braga. Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, the connective tissue between all the Netflix Marvel series, will also appear in Luke Cage.

Next up after Luke Cage should be Iron Fist sometime in early-to-mid 2017, followed by most likely the second season of Jessica Jones, which has already been green lit. The Defenders crossover series starring all the Marvel Netflix heroes hasn’t been given a firm production date yet. With both Daredevil and Jessica Jones receiving second seasons, don’t rule out the same happening for Luke Cage if it is well received.

Colter’s big Netflix’s Luke Cage release date reveal is toward the end of the video below.
