Netflix’s willingness to dip into the 1980’s and tug on our nostalgic strings continues with this summer’s short event series, Castlevania.
Based on the 1986 Konami video game of the same name for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Castlevania follows the last surviving member of a disgraced clan tasked with taking down the most formidable vampire of them all, Dracula.
Warren Ellis, a well-known comic book artist and best-selling author, penned the Castlevania script. Fred Tatasciore, Alejandra Reynoso and James Callis provide the voice talent.
As you’ll see in the Castlevania teaser trailer below, Netflix is delivering an edge anime with full-on blood and horror.
Castlevania’s four 30-minute episodes will be available to stream on Netflix beginning July 7th.
