We have a little more information on that unexpected Netflix announcement late last week that will finally bring us new live-action content within The Dark Crystal universe.
The official The Dark Crystal website has published a message from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance director Louis Leterrier directed squarely at us, the fans.
The message offers insight into Leterrier’s approach to the project and how he will splice together modern filmmaking techniques with the artistry and puppetry that helped make the original film so special.
We got a sneak peek at how this new modern The Dark Crystal will look in the new trailer and per Leterrier’s message, there are a lot more behind-the-scenes looks at the preparation and production of the upcoming 10-episode series to come.
What Leterrier makes abundantly clear in his message is that he and the filmmaking team, from Netflix to The Jim Henson Company, are all huge fans of the original film. They care about delivering a series that they would want to see, and that in turn should benefit all of us when The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance arrives sometime next year.
