The LEGO Group has dropped the official 90-second Ninjago Season 9 trailer and confirmed the season’s name to be simply called Hunted.
Ninjago Season 9 appears to pick up shortly after Season 8 left off with Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole and Young Wu trapped in the First Realm. Per the trailer, all but Cole and Wu will be hunted by the Dragon Hunters and imprisoned alongside the fiery beasts.
Meanwhile back in Ninjago, Lloyd and Nya spark a rebellion against Emperor Garmadon who has finally turned Ninjago into his own image. To defeat Garmadon, the Green Ninja will need more allies and gets help from Season 4’s popular Elemental Masters at the very least.
It’s unclear exactly when the Ninjago Season 9 premiere date will fall in North America. If The LEGO Group follows Season 8’s pattern, Australia will be the first territory to get the new episodes, while North America will have to wait two or more months for them to arrive.
It is confirmed that LEGO Ninjago Season 9 sets will be available to purchase in North America beginning August 1st.
