Indira Varma Jumps From ‘Game of Thrones’ to ‘Obi-Wan’ Series

Another Game of Thrones alum is heading to a galaxy far, far away.

Deadline is reporting that Indira Varma has joined the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series in a super secret role. A love interest, perhaps, but for now it’s all a guessing game.

Varna played Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones from Season 4 through Season 7. Her character’s role was initially as paramour of Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal, The Mandalorian), but she became a series regular following Martell’s untimely demise.

Varma joins Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith veterans Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, respectively.

This casting is further evidence that pre-production is ramping up for an expecting spring shoot date.

The Obi-Wan series takes places approximately 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, is on board as showrunner.

Barring any unforeseen speed bumps we can expect the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series totaling six episodes to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
