You can’t keep a good agent down, especially when that agent is one of the founders of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
Marvel today confirmed that Hayley Atwell, otherwise known as the actress behind Peggy Carter, will guest star on the Agents of SHIELD Season 2 premiere, ‘Shadows.’ She will be joined by guest star Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, who made his debut in the latter episodes of Season 1.
Atwell is the star of this holiday season’s Agent Carter TV series, a prequel to Agents of SHIELD set approximately a year after Captain America (Chris Evans) crashes into the ice and is presumed dead. Agent Carter will air during the Agents of SHIELD to ensure there’s no multi-month interruption in your SHIELD programming.
There are a number of ways Marvel can play Atwell’s role in Agents of SHIELD. She could appear in a flashback that helps explain how the secret organization was started and how it can grow again under Coulson’s command. Or, the older Peggy Carter as seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier could be called upon for Hydra intel or some other valuable information about hidden assets to assist a SHIELD team forced to operate from the shadows.
Here’s the Agents of SHIELD Season 2 premiere official synopsis, “Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources — but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?”
The Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 2 in a little over two weeks from now on Tuesday, September 23 on ABC.
