The Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere date on AMC is set for Sunday, April 10 at 9/8c as announced by the cable network during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour this past Friday evening. That’s way earlier than the August premiere date for the series this past summer.
AMC had previously announced that Fear The Walking Dead would expand from six to 15 episodes for its sophomore run. In keeping with the structure of The Walking Dead, the season season of Fear will be split into two halves with a break over the summer. The expectation is that the latter eight episodes will lead directly into The Walking Dead Season 6.
Production on Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 began last month in the Baja peninsula in Mexico at Baja Studios. Given how Season 1 concluded with the group of survivors headed to Victor Strand’s (Coleman Domingo) yacht, expect a chunk of Season 2 to take place on the water.
The first photo from the Mexican set can be seen above with Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) and Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades) on the deck of Strand’s boat.
New for Season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead is Chris Hardwick’s The Talking Dead live after-show that will be attached to every episode beginning with the Season 2 premiere on April 10.
