Drogon and Tyrion Meet in Game of Thrones Season 5 Poster

None of us needed reminding that Game of Thrones is returning in less than two months yet HBO made sure to deliver some new goodies to keep the hit show at the absolute top of mind.

Earlier today HBO revealed the Game of Thrones Season 5 poster that features the official key art for the upcoming season, as well as a pair of short clips that are part of an ongoing viral campaign centered around the raven vision that Bran experiences as a Warg. You can check out all the new goodies at the bottom of this post.

The Game of Thrones Season 5 key art portrays a nearly full size Drogon, one of Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) three dragons, emerging from the mist directly in front of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) as he stands on the bow of a ship. This imagery portends an alliance between the mother of dragons and fleeing Lannister outlaw as hinted at in the first Game of Thrones Season 5 trailer.

The first of two clips features Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in conversation with Wilding enemy leader Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds) about how Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) should be recognized in the grand pecking order of Westeros. It is followed in the second clip by a brief exchange between Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and her loyal squire, Podrick Payne (Daniel Portman), about assuming leadership.

HBO will premiere Game of Thrones Season 5 a few days later than the previous seasons on Sunday, April 12 at 9/8c.
