A Doom Patrol Season 3 renewal has been officially greenlit at HBO Max. The announcement came Saturday during a second installment of the DCFandome streaming event.
Unlike the first two seasons of Doom Patrol that premiered and ran exclusively on the DC Universe streaming platform, Doom Patrol moving forward is now an HBO Max Original Series and will run exclusively on the new WarnerMedia streaming platform.
Placing Doom Patrol Seasons 1 and 2 on HBO Max for the platform’s launch likely aided in the series’ renewal. After appearing front and enter on HBO Max’s home page, WarnerMedia states Doom Patrol has “risen to the top as one of the most watched Max Originals on the platform.”
The conclusion of Doom Patrol Season 2 was cut short by an episode due to COVID-19 halting production by. Rather than concluding, Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger that will need to be resolved in the early parts of Season 3.
