Disney+ Surpasses 100 Million Global Subscribers and Keeps Going

Disney Plus Sale Cyber Monday

The age of streaming was further cemented today with news out of Disney that their streaming service Disney+ has crossed 100 million global subscribers across 59 countries in 16 months since it first debuted on November 12th, 2019.

Disney’s Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek is obviously thrilled with the news and pledges to increase investment in new programming to feed the appetite of the massive and continually growing audience — a top priority across all of Disney.

“In fact, we set a target of 100+ new titles per year, and this includes Disney Animation, Disney Live Action, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Our direct-to-consumer business is the Company’s top priority, and our robust pipeline of content will continue to fuel its growth.”

The next big Disney+ original series is Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, set to premiere on March 19th.
