The CW’s Arrow isn’t done with the drug Vertigo just yet and will be bringing it back in a big way when Season 3 premieres this fall.
Swedish actor Peter Stormare has joined the cast of Arrow as Werner Zytle, the man known in the DC Comics New 52 comic books as Count Vertigo, per TV Guide. Stormare will make his first appearance in the Season 3 premiere and simply be known as Vertigo.
The character of Count Vertigo was played by Seth Gabel in the first two seasons of Arrow. He met an ultimately demise at the hand of Oliver Queen when foolishly threatening to take the life of Felicity.
Stormare’s Arrow Season 3 Count Vertigo character will step in to fill the void left by the Count and takeover distribution of the dangerous Vertigo drug throughout Starling City.
Fans of NBC’s The Blacklist should recognize Stormare as the villain Berlin who squared off against James Spader. Vertigo will be the first villain that Oliver Queen and his team go up against in Arrow Season 3.
