Today marks the two-week countdown to AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead series premiere date on Sunday, August 23. Early reviews for the series premiere and second episode have been mixed with some feeling the pacing is too slow compared to the more hectic scenarios presented in The Walking Dead.
By now you should have a good idea about when Fear the Walking Dead is set, who the key players are and where they’ll be battling some of the first walkers to appear. If you’ve missed the previously released trailers or promotional materials, AMC wants to make sure you understand why this show exists and where it sits in the overarching Walking Dead timeline.
Below is a new behind-the-scenes video with interview snippets from the cast and crew interspersed with trailer footage and some new footage we haven’t seen before. It reiterates that the series’ first season — six episodes total — takes place within the 4-5 weeks that Rick Grimes was in a coma during The Walking Dead premiere episode. The zombie apocalypse has just begun and regular lives are slowly being impacted as society cracks and ultimately crumbles.
