The first official tidbits from Lucasfim about the upcoming Disney+ (Disney Plus) Cassian Andor spy thriller series beyond Diego Luna in the title role were revealed on Thursday during Disney’s investor conference.
The big news is that there’s a 100 percent chance of Alan Tudyk reprising his role from Star Wars: Rogue One as the blunt and loyal former imperial droid, K-2SO. Tudyk not only provided the droid’s voice but also his motion-capture performance.
Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm President, also announced that Stephen Schiff will serve as the series showrunner and executive produce. Schiff won acclaim as the showrunner for USA’s The Americans spy series.
The untitled Cassian Andor series set prior to the events of Rogue One recently began early production and will premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2021.
