One of the most impressive toys aimed at adults and kids with very generous adults is the Playmobil 70548 Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 playset. This massive ship/playset combination garnered a lot of media attention when it was first announced this past summer, and finally it’s in stock as select retailers to buy online and enjoy at home.
The Playmobil Enterprise measures an impressive 42-inches long and 18-inches wide and is designed to hang from the ceiling or impress friends and family on a coffee table. Yes, it’s big enough that a mere end table will not suffice.
What looks like a model with light-up LEDs on the outside opens up via a removable saucer top to access the bridge. You can also pop off another panel to get at a little engineering room.
As for those LEDs, they can be controlled via an app from a phone or tablet. We don’t condone freaking out pets by activating the app from afar.
It wouldn’t be a licensed Playmobil set without some recognizable figures and the NCC-1701 does not disappoint. Included in their accurate uniform colors are Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Ensign Chekov, Lt. Uhura, Captain James T. Kirk, Mr. Spock, Lt. Sulu, and Chief Engineer Montgomery “Scott” Scotty.
