At the X06 conference in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft formally announced ‘Halo Wars’ is in development at Ensemble Studios exclusively for Xbox 360. Ensemble Studios is best known for the successful ‘Age of Empires’ series of games.
Like ‘Age of Empires,’ ‘Halo Wars’ will be a real-time strategy game – except set in the Halo universe. You’ll take control of UNSC armies responsible for fending off the first encounter and attack by alien Covenant forces. No additional information was released other than a movie-worthy teaser trailer chock full of Halo goodness.
‘Halo Wars’ is expected out sometime next year and we’ll have plenty to report between now and its eventual release.
