One notable omission to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Blu-ray debut in November is ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ Set for release this Tuesday on DVD, the third X-Men film is arguably the studio’s biggest home video release this holiday season and would have been a perfect property to debut alongside Playstation 3 to help push otherwise oblivious or on-the-fence consumers towards high definition home video. And it still might be.
A new listing has shown up on Fox’s upcoming Blu-ray slate and it is none other than X3. At this point we don’t know if this means an imminent release before the year is out or an appearance sometime in the first half of 2007. We’re certainly keeping our fingers crossed for the former. Whether you love or hate Brett Ratner’s sped-up interpretation of Brian Singer’s X-Men universe, the ear and eye candy are quintessential home theater demo material created to shine in 1080p video and DTS-HD Master Audio.
‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ on Blu-ray Disc has been added to the undated tab in our On Tap Releases database, and will be updated with more concrete information once Fox makes it available.
