The sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a go with a completed script in the can and a start date according to THR’s Showbiz 411.
Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (Valkyrie, X-Men) has turned in the completed script which is said to differ from the original pitch. While set in Japan as one of the end-credit sequence in X-Men Origins: Wolverine suggested it would be, Wolverine 2 will heavily involve a love story between Logan and a Japanese actress. A source calls the story “beautiful” and “very different from the first film.”
Hugh Jackman will don the Wolverine blades again when shooting starts in January 2011. No director is attached and it is unknown which other mutants will appear in the film.
